Description of the location
Maapadontie 2 offers modern rental housing in verdant Oulunkylä, a district featuring excellent transport connections and local services for tenants. The area includes Oulunkylä Sports Park, four daycare centres and Oulunkylä Primary School, for example. Developing Oulunkylä offers a comfortable living environment in the middle of parks and outdoor recreation opportunities.
The new location has a total of 48 apartments. The apartments feature light-coloured interiors with painted white walls and light wood-grain vinyl plank floors. The bathrooms and kitchens also feature ceramic tiles. The kitchens have connections and spaces reserved for dishwashers and microwave ovens. Each apartment features a glazed balcony. Each apartment also has a heated storage compartment located on the attic of the building.
The building has six floors and two stairwells with lifts. The building was designed with a focus on accessibility and community cohesion, with a wide range of shared facilities for tenants. The building and apartments are designed to be fully accessible. Shared facilities for tenants include a club room, a sauna, a laundry room and various storage spaces. Parking spaces are located in a local unheated shared-use car park. Bicycles can be stored in the yard area, a shelter by the entrances and storage rooms.
Maapadontie 2 is a non-smoking location, meaning that smoking is prohibited inside the apartments, on balconies, in all shared facilities and yards.

Applications for the apartments can be sent to the City of Helsinki as of Tuesday 4th of March. You can apply for the apartments by submitting an application to the City of Helsinki. If you have a pending housing application, you can add the apartments of the new location to your application by editing the application during the application period. A third of the apartments are reserved as exchange apartments for people already living in a Heka apartment.
Please note that according to a government decision, income limits are in use in Heka tenant selection. The income limits are applied to both new applicants and those changing apartments within Heka.
