Description of the location
Pilkkikuja 2 consists of two buildings with a total of 65 apartments. The sizes of apartments vary from 32-square-metre studios to 92-square-metre family homes. The apartments are fully accessible. Each apartment features a glazed balcony or balconette. Each apartment also has a heated storage compartment. The floors of the apartments have been finished with easy-care vinyl planks, and the floors of the bathrooms are ceramic tile. The kitchens feature induction stoves, dishwashers and fridge-freezers. The appliances are white. There are also spaces and connectors reserved for microwave ovens.
The residents' yard area is located on a sheltered yard deck. The buildings feature plenty of shared facilities for residents, such as a shared sauna, a laundry room with drying rooms, a club room and various storage spaces. The buildings also house two civil defence shelters. Residents' parking spaces are covered spaces in an unheated parking hall. Each parking space is equipped with a car heating socket. Two of the parking spaces are dimensioned for persons with mobility limitations. Bicycles can be stored in the yard area, storage rooms and parking hall.
The buildings have 6–7 floors and light brick facades. The buildings have solar panels installed on their roofs. Some of the buildings' roofs are green roofs.
Pilkkikuja 2 is located in seaside Verkkosaari in Kalasatama. The area features excellent public transport connections operating in many directions. Kalasatama metro station is located approximately 600 metres away, and there are bus stops and a city bike station in the neighbourhood. The comprehensive services of the area are concentrated at shopping centre Redi and Teurastamo. There is a daycare centre, comprehensive school and health centre within walking distance.
