Svanströminkuja 5, Laajasalo (senior location)

Towards the end of the year, a senior location with a total of 77 apartments will be completed for Heka in Laajasalo. People over the age of 55 may apply for housing in senior locations.

Svanströminkuja 5 offers one and two-bedroom apartments with floor areas of 31–56 m². The 5–8-level building has two wings with lifts and accessible entries in the courtyard.

Each apartment has an asseccible glazed balcony. All of the homes are designed to be fully accessible. Each apartment includes a warm storage area in the location. The floors of the rooms, hall and kitchen are covered with laminate flooring.

The location features many shared-use areas: a sauna, club room, laundry room, drying room and storage for aid devices. Some of the outdoor equipment storage areas are located on the ground floor of the A wing. The personal storage areas and rest of the outdoor equipment storage areas are located on the ground floor of the B wing.

Twenty parking spaces have been reserved for the residents of the location in a nearby parking facility. Bikes can be stored in the yard and the storage areas on the ground floor. Deep collection containers for waste are located on the adjoining lot.

The estimated date of completion of the location is 31 December 2024.
The location is smoke-free. Smoking is prohibited in the apartments, balconies, outdoor areas and shared areas, such as saunas and club rooms.

The head designer of the location is architect Olli Sarlin from Arkkitehdit Sarlin+Sopanen Oy.
