Tongankuja 1, Jätkäsaari

The Tongankuja 1 site is located at the intersection of Atlantinkatu and Tongankuja in Jätkäsaari. The area features excellent public transport and cycling and walking connections. A tram stop is located only one block away from the building.

Tongankuja 1 includes 52 apartments from studio apartments to family apartments with a floor area of nearly one hundred square metres. Each apartment has a French balcony. All of the homes are designed to be fully accessible. The apartments have white walls and easy to care for vinyl plank floors. The kitchen fixtures are also white. The kitchen has a dishwasher and space with connections for a microwave..Each apartment also has a heated storage compartment located in the shared basement.

Tongankuja has many common areas for residents: free-of-charge laundry room, drying room, club room and various storage spaces. There is a shared sauna on the top floor. The civil defence shelter is located in the basement of the Haso site in the same block. The parking spaces for the building are located in the residential area’s parking facility. Bicycles can be stored in the yard area and ground floor storage rooms.

Like all new Heka locations, Tongankuja 1 is a smoke-free location: smoking is prohibited inside the apartments, on the balconies and terraces and in the yards.

Applications for the apartments can be sent to the City of Helsinki. You can apply for the apartments by submitting an application to the City of Helsinki. If you have a pending housing application, you can add the apartments of the new location to your application by editing the application during the application period. A third of the apartments are reserved as exchange apartments for people already living in a Heka apartment.

Please note that according to a government decision, income limits are in use in Heka tenant selection at the beginning of 2025. The income limits are applied to both new applicants and those changing apartments within Heka.
